happy

when i was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
when i went to school, they asked me what i wanted to be when i grew up.
i wrote down "happy." they told me i didn't understand the assignment, and i told them they didn't understand life.

8:00 am. Change into boardshorts and tshirt
9:00 am. Big sets hit for the next 45 min

San Clemente Oceanfest

I attended the San Clemente Oceanfest at the northside of the pier today, it was way sick.
A couple thousand people were in attendance, with 400+ competitors. I did the mile open water swim, and a swim-run-swim. The weather was hot, the water was 67+, and the swell picked up throughout the day, with 4-5 ft. sets rolling through. I carpooled down with my lifeguard buds, Bryce and TJ Saeman. They competed in the standup paddle competition, finishing equal 7th, getting eliminated in the Semis. Their sister, Bridget, ended up winning the womens division, destroying all the girls. The sickest thing about the whole day was sitting next to Mickey Munoz, talking about surfboards with Colin McPhillips, having Mavericks pioneer, Jeff Clark trip over my bag, and having a talk with Alex Knost at a 7 11 about the swell and the competition. Overall, it was a way sick day that I can't wait to try to repeat next year.

You Scratched My Anchor

And by the reviews, it looks like everyone is excited...

"al knost what a dork….and the rest suffice the rat….all the ingredients 4 a pathetic flick…"

"I’ll take a stab at explaining it to you Stu. She’s (Kassia Meador) got a (female body part) and can ride a longboard OK, which makes her marketable to the folks at Quiksilver so they can sell more Roxy apparel.

Can someone explain to me the longboard thing?"

"Let’s see some bi guys that probably wear girl pants and paint meaningless shit in their free time and try as hard as humanly possible to be as different as can be because that’s what they think is cool….No Thanks, I wouldnt even steal this movie!!!"

Stimulus

About a week ago, me and a couple friends hit up Lido Theatre to watch the Stimulus premiere, it turned out to be really sick. All of the biggest names in skimming were there, and a live band played afterwords in front of the theatre on the back of a Uhaul truck. Admission was $2, and we got Laventinas pizza afterwords so the whole night cost under $10 bucks. Money well spent.

Viper fins

We were kicking it at the beach last weekend when my friend trevor was sitting by the water, he had tossed his fins back towards those of us sitting on the beach. I thought it might look cool, so I had him toss one fin up in the air, and voila, I got the shot. He's looking at the fin, which draws your attention to what he is looking at.

Stories

Theres always a story behind a good picture. I'm not saying that my photos are good, but alot of them have pretty good stories behind them. I'm gonna try to tell about what happened in the photo, or how I got the shot for the next couple of photo posts...
