I just found out about these guys... based out of Byron Bay, New South Wales, Aus. It looks like these guys have stumbled upon to something really sick. Going with the Gato Heroi, Dano approach, they have artists do alot of the work on the boards, making them one of a kind. Check them out at http://seasurfboards.com
