Transportation

Rides, Whips, Cars...
In the end, it doesn't really matter how you got to the beach, it's that you arrived at all.
I am forever indebted to the wonderful people who have taken me to and from the sea, week in and week out.
This one's for you...

Point Concept Asymmetrical Fish

Oily Solitude

As we finished up our Junior year at Point Loma, Erica and I slipped in a few sessions before the overwhelming week of late nights and hours spent reviewing notes took over our lives.
It really was perfection in a sense. Just her and I sitting and enjoying what little wind swell the Pacific had to offer, all to ourselves.
Happiness.

Six One Nine Feature

A friend from school, Hallie, is involved in the Journalism Dept. here at Point Loma, she asked if she could do an interview/feature of my photography for a magazine her class was creating about the culture of San Diego.
I'm not to sure if this is going to be released anywhere, but I am stoked to see my photography in hard copy. The quality turned out great! Thanks Hallie,

Graduation | Natasha

Tomorrow, my incredibley talented sister, Natasha, graduates from college.
I've had the pleasure of working with her, attending school with her, and most importantly, surfing with her, and I cannot wait to see what Natasha does as she takes off on her teaching career.
She is one of the most happiest and gifted people I know, and it's an honor to call her my sister.
Congratulations Natasha, you did it!

Jack Lynch | One Day... One Slay... Part III

One fun session with Jack Lynch,

Part three of a mini session based series

ONE DAY.... ONE SLAY.....

“2 weeks after I acquired my provisional license, I drove myself down to the town of Newcastle on a Thursday afternoon. I like Newcastle; it’s like the northern beaches. Just ghetto. A lot less BMW’s and Range Rovers driving around. I was there to meet Nicholas Damen. The aim to shoot another edit in his ‘One Day, One Slay’ series.”

“The swell was south and the winds were strong. Not the ideal weather for Newcastle for surfing let alone logging. That Thursday night as we sat in ‘Grill’d’ eating lamb hamburgers we made the decision to head south.”

“We had a tip to head to the Coal Coast. We departed Newcastle at 4 am and didn’t arrive back till 7 that night. This edit you see here is what we discovered. Proves those quick day trips are worth your time.” –Jack Lynch

Natasha | Erica | Trevor

Running full steam into Finals week, I cannot wait until Summer...
I cannot wait for the sand between my toes.
The sunburned faces and bleach blond hair.
The crisp green/blue waters of the pacific folding over me.
The freedom of what it means to be in school during the year, then released on Summer vacation.
Summer 2011... This has the makings of being the best Summer yet.

Thankful

Thankful that I live in the most beautiful place in the world.

Thankful that I get to have the opportunities that I’ve come across.

Thankful for the incredible friends I have made over the years.

Thankful for all the lessons I’ve learned; from good and bad experiences.

Thankful for being able to share my love for the surfing culture with as many people as possible.

Thankful for being with the absolutely, undoubtedly, most incredible girl on the face of this Earth.

Thankful for a God that loves each and every one of us.

Appreciatively Yours,

Alex
