Perfection

Erica, Trevor, Greg, Cody, and I woke up well before the sun peaked over the horizon...
We checked several spots, and ended up "settling" on a fun little reef, not too far from school.
The conditions were some of the best we've ever had. The beginning of a nice winter swell comboed with offshore winds...
Here are the fruits of our labor, meticulously saved on digital file by the most incredible: Erica "Purebread" Burtrum.

Feeling Black & White

It's always nice to shoot with Black and White film, preferably Ilford 125 PX.
I really have to pay attention to the timing, exposure, and lighting... More so than with my digital.
While it takes a while to finish a roll, each image is marked indelibly in my mind.

No Swell

Man, the swell really isn't hitting here at all.
It's too bad, I was looking forward to some good waves.
I guess Surfline mislead me again...

Medium Format

I picked up a Medium Format camera around Christmas time and just finished up my first roll.
Bear with me, I'm still learning on how it works.
I really like the square formatting of the photos and will work on getting higher quality photos out.
But this is part of what came out of the first roll...

Perfect Weather

The weather lately has been unbelievable.
Seriously, 85 degrees consistently.
The Winter swells are starting to fill in.
I couldn't ask for better conditions.
