Salute To The Waves
Dear Waves,
I've always had a fascination with how you work and move...
Here's a little tribute to how you've treated us this winter.
Thank you for being more consistent than not.
Thank you for freezing our fingers, nose, and toes off everytime we get in the water.
Thank you for doing your thing that draws us back time after time.

The Beginning Shots...
Erica and I headed up (again) to Santa Barbara to work on her new board with Ryan!
He shaped her a new 6'7" egg with a 2+1 fin set up... he had to modify the template somewhat to get the right lines.
Thanks again Ryan for shaping it and Connor for coloring it, hope you guys have fun in Australia!

Gregs New Surf Thump
Dave from Almond called Greg earlier last week to let him know that his new Surf Thump was ready to be picked up!
So Erica, Trevor, and I headed over to grab it before our trip up to Santa Barbara to visit Greg for the weekend.
The board turned out way better than any of us could have expected: from the rails, to the nose concave, to the rounded square tail...
Greg got a really special board, and you can sure that he's going to be riding it for a very long time...

Explorations
Searching. Watching. Waiting.
We all feel the same emotions sitting in the water, driving from spot to spot.
We're all looking for that one wave that brings us back the same emotions that the first wave we ever caught gave us.
The utter joy that we had standing up and feeling like we're floating. Like nothing else matters.
The effervescent feeling that surfing brings us, the pure joy, is something no thing, or no one can bring you other than yourself.
Sure, you can buy some great surfing products, go to the "perfect" surf destinations...
But only you can bring that happiness upon yourself.
From ankle high, to overhead waves, whatever it is, make it count.
Enjoy wherever you end up paddling out, take a deep breath and just take in the beautiful environment that you ended up in at that point in time...

Saturday Morning Hikes
Trevor, Christina, Erica, and I all headed out to go for a little midmorning hike today after surfing in the morning.
The weather was incredible this weekend with clear skies, warm air, and a slight ocean breeze that moved through the beach.
After the hike, we loaded our boards up again and Trevor and I surfed a little reef break not too far from school...
